Shifting AI Workforce Sentiment: 2023–2026

This study conducts a longitudinal, aspect-based sentiment analysis on 2,430 Guardian articles to quantify shifting media narratives regarding generative AI in the workforce from January 2023 to April 2026. Findings reveal a significant decline in positive sentiment surrounding Big Tech investment and entry-level jobs. This decline is primarily driven by financial skepticism and labor displacement concerns. Ultimately, the research highlights how broad sentiment aggregates can obscure these highly specific, aspect-level workforce anxieties.
